Mercer Insurance Group Inc. (MIGP 27.95, +9.09, +48.20%) shares rallied 47% to $27.75 each after United Fire & Casualty Co. (UFCS 23.00, +2.26, +10.90%) said late Tuesday it would acquire the insurance provider for $28.25 a share. Shares of United Fire were up nearly 11%.
OmniVision Technologies Inc. (OVTI 30.59, +2.30, +8.13%) shares were up 6.2% after the manufacturer of sensors used in camera phones forecast third-quarter profit that beat Wall Street’s expectations.

Corinthian Colleges Inc. (COCO 3.96, -0.18, -4.35%) shares fell 5.4% after the for-profit educator said CEO Peter Waller had stepped down and would be replaced by its current chairman, Jack Massimino
