Columbia Laboratories (CBRX 1.82, +0.31, +20.53%) shares leaped 27% before the opening bell. Columbia and Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. (WPI 49.55, +0.15, +0.30%) reported progress in a Phase III trial of Prochieve, a gel designed to reduce the chances of babies being born prematurely.
Radware Ltd. (RDWR 37.49, +4.73, +14.44%) shares climbed 14% before the market opened. The Tel Aviv provider of application-delivery solutions said that SK C&C of South Korea deployed its switches to build a Web-portal service.
Verigy Ltd. (VRGY 12.29, +3.15, +34.46%) shares rallied 35% in the premarket, while LTX-Credence (LTXC 8.45, +0.03, +0.36%) shares fell 14%. Verigy, the Cupertino, Calif., provider of semiconductor-test systems, received and rejected a takeover bid of $12.15 a share from Advantest Corp. (ATE 21.70, +0.20, +0.93%). Verigy said that the deal proposal didn’t exceed the one it has in place with LTX-Credence, but Verigy said it would nonetheless open talks with Advantest.

Triquint Semiconductor Inc. (TQNT 12.72, +0.19, +1.52%) shares declined 14% before the bell. The Hillsboro, Ore., chip maker was mentioned in a Friday article by The Motley Fool.
