(BEZ 63.28, +18.17, +40.28%) shares were up 40% after Swiss industrial-robot maker ABB Ltd. said it would acquire the U.S. manufacturer of electric motors in a $4.2 billion deal.Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc.(KERX 5.81, +0.45, +8.40%) shares were up 9.3% after the firm said its prospective treatment for a chemical imbalance in dialysis patients yielded positive results.SodaStream International Ltd.’s(SODA 43.70, +2.10, +5.05%) U.S.-listed shares gained 7% after the Israeli carbonation-systems company reported a more than 50% rise in quarterly earnings.
Decliners Comverge Inc. (COMV 6.38, -0.51, -7.40%) shares were down 7.4% after the manufacturer of energy-saving technology said a New York utility had revised a contract, cutting its estimated revenue by $29 million. Seagate Technology PLC (STX 13.20, -0.66, -4.76%) shares declined almost 5% after the biggest manufacturer of disk drives said it halted discussions to be taken private and OK’d buying back as much as $2 billion of its stock
