Ann Taylor Stores Corp. (ANN 25.70, +1.95, +8.21%)  shares rose 9.5% after the clothing retailer reported a third-quarter profit that topped expectations. Foot Locker Inc.(FL 18.20, +1.76, +10.71%)  shares gained 9.5% after the athletic-shoe seller reported third-quarter revenue that beat Wall Street estimates.  Mela Sciences Inc.(MELA 5.35, +2.82, +111.46%)  shares rose 99% after a U.S. medical advisory panel voted 8-7 to back the company’s experimental skin-cancer-detection device.  Salesforce.com(CRM 127.85, +12.08, +10.43%) shares added 9.3% after the seller of online customer-management software projected fourth-quarter sales above estimates.




Decliners

CVR Energy Inc. (CVI 10.78, -0.71, -6.18%)  shares fell 6.3% to $10.77 after the producer of fuel and fertilizer priced an expanded secondary public offering of 18 million shares at $10.75
